My Passion:

My passion is to point emotionally and spiritually hurting people to healing through intertwining my personal life journey and experiences with Bible study and retreats along with tidbits of encouraging yet challenging articles. I’m especially qualified to cover tough topics like abortion and co-dependency.

My Experience:

I previously held the Center Director position for Care Net Family Resource Center.  This multi-faceted position involved training and mentoring volunteers and co-workers, counseling clients, developing and leading a retreat team, leading Bible studies, building and maintaining community relations, managing client files, database, property maintenance and supplies. I also participated in the construction project and move into our new facility. My greatest joy in this position was to watch the transformation on the faces of the clients and volunteers as they received our loving, non-judgmental services and mentoring.

My Volunteering:

I¬†currently volunteer as the coordinator and leader of our Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat and as a facilitator of our Post Abortion Peer-Counseling and Education Bible Study. In addition, I am working with area churches to inform them of our services and the needs and opportunities of men and women in our community to heal from a past abortion experience.

I also have been leading the Middle School 7th & 8th Graders through some of my favorite portions of scripture this year in a somewhat interactive style, but still with direction and purpose. They are very smart and well-versed in the Bible already, so going deeper into the Word has been very rewarding for us all. In the past I’ve first participated in and then led other ministries such as girls’ detention center ministry, exercise and weight loss ministry, small group Bible study, and young adult Bible study. I’ve also participated in ministries such as women’s ministry, MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers), choir, holiday musicals and various instrumental ensembles.

I attended my first abortion recovery retreat in 2007 and have been volunteering with Rachel’s Vineyard ever since, first as a team member and now as a coordinator and leader of our local retreat. The transformation that I am able to witness and be a part of through the grace and forgiveness of our redeemer Jesus Christ during these weekends is beyond description.
